WILL POLISH WORK PERIOD BE TAKEN INTO ACCOUNT WHEN ASSIGNING A PENSION IN UKRAINE?

The Pension Fund of Ukraine says that in accordance with the Agreement between Ukraine and the Republic of Poland on social security dated May 18, 2012, seniority acquired in Poland is included in the insurance seniority to determine the right to receive a pension in Ukraine.

That is, if a person has insurance experience in Ukraine and worked in Poland, then such experience is summed up to determine the right to a pension.

For example, if a person has worked in Ukraine for 25 years and in Poland for 5 years, he has the right to receive an old-age pension in Ukraine, since in 2023, in order to retire at the age of 60, he must have at least 30 years of insurance experience.

At the same time, according to the provisions of the Agreement, each of the countries calculates the amount of the pension in accordance with the norms of its national legislation, for the length of service acquired on its territory.
