The first virtual classes “EU-Ukraine best practice towards SDGs progress” were held as part of the implementation of the Jean Monet Erasmus project

On April 19, 2023, the first virtual classes “EU-Ukraine best practice towards SDGs progress” were held at the Department of Accounting and Taxation of Sumy State University within the framework of the Jean Monet module project “Transparency. Accountability. Responsibility. Governance. Europe. Trust. Sustainability” financed by the Erasmus+ program (101085395– TARGETS – ERASMUS-JMO-2022-HEI-TCH-RSCH).  The event was devoted to issues of green accounting and sustainable practices based on the example of Johnson Controls International.

The invited experts were:

– Angelo Laselva, Finance Rotation Program Associate, Building Technology and Solutions, UK & Ireland, Johnson Controls;

– Divya Premkumar, Finance Rotation Program Associate, Commercial Finance EMEALA, Johnson Controls;

– Prerana Ambresh Panjwani, Finance Rotation Program Associate, Global Marine & Navy, Johnson Controls.

Experts shared the best European practices of green accounting adaptation and measurement of sustainability in accounting and talked about the peculiarities of building a career in green accounting. Particular attention was paid to the definition and features of green revenue taxation in the case study of the Green HVAC Vocational Program developed by Johnson Controls.

The participants of the first virtual class were more than 80 scientists and business representatives, students and post-graduate students from Ukraine and the EU, including bachelors, masters and post-graduate students of the specialty “Accounting and Taxation”, who gained valuable knowledge and had the opportunity to discuss individual issues in a free discussion after the presentation.
