On March 11, 2025, the Department of Accounting and Taxation hosted the first session of the new course “Transparency, Accountability, and Sustainable Business Development on the Path to EU Integration” within the framework of the Jean Monnet module “Transparency. Accountability. Responsibility. Governance. Europe. Trust. Sustainability”, funded by the Erasmus+ program (101085395—TARGETS—ERASMUS-JMO-2022-HEI-TCH-RSCH).
The course organizers, Dr. Inna Makarenko, Professor, and Zhanna Oleksich, PhD, Senior Lecturer, delivered a lecture on “Conceptual Foundations of Sustainable Development and CSR in the EU and Ukraine.”
During the lecture, the speakers explored the fundamental aspects of sustainable development, analyzed the achievements of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and discussed the role of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in today’s business environment.
Special attention was given to Triple Bottom Line (TBL), Integrated Thinking, and other methodologies applied at the global, European, and Ukrainian levels in sustainable business practices. Additionally, the European experience in implementing sustainable development and CSR was examined, highlighting key lessons for Ukraine.
The next course module will take place on March 14 and will focus on sustainability standards and the regulatory landscape of the EU.
Thank you to all participants for your engagement! Stay tuned for updates and join the upcoming sessions.
