PARENTS MAY DEMAND THE TERMINATION OF THE EMPLOYMENT CONTRACT WITH A MINOR

Minors under the age of 16 may work only with the consent of one of the parents or a person replacing him. And can the already concluded employment contract be terminated at their request?

Article 199 of the Labor Code of Ukraine stipulates that parents, adoptive parents and guardians of a minor, as well as state bodies and officials entrusted with the supervision and control of compliance with labor legislation, have the right to demand the termination of an employment contract with a minor, in particular a fixed-term one, when its continued validity threatens the minor’s health or violates his legitimate interests.
