How to restore a lost pension certificate

In accordance with Part 4 of Art. 44 of the Law of Ukraine “On Mandatory State Pension Insurance”, the bodies of the Pension Fund of Ukraine issue pension certificates to persons who have been assigned a pension.

If the pensioner lost the document or it was damaged, he can get a new one. To do this, you need to submit an application for the production of a new pension certificate.

This can be done in several ways: by contacting any convenient territorial body of the Pension Fund of Ukraine; through a personal account on the web portal of electronic services of the Pension Fund of Ukraine (portal.pfu.gov.ua) or using the mobile application “Pension Fund”.

When applying in person, the relevant application is filled out, a passport is presented and a photo is attached.

On the website of the Fund’s electronic services, the application for the production of a pension certificate can be found in the “Regarding pension provision” section.

From the “Pension Fund” mobile application, you need to select the attachment “To PFU”: section “Communications to PFU” – “Application for the production of a pension certificate”.

You can get a manufactured pension certificate at the chosen service center of the Fund (indicated by the person when submitting the application).

An alternative to a paper pension certificate for many pensioners can be the electronic display of the pension certificate in the Diia mobile application. It has the same legal force as a traditional pension certificate.

Sometimes there are situations when a pensioner for certain reasons cannot independently obtain a new paper pension certificate. Then the document can be issued to a person who represents the pensioner’s interests, and whose authority is formalized in accordance with the procedure established by law.
