Demand for intellectual and “craft” products is growing rapidly in Ukraine. Taking into account the peculiarities of the development of social and labor relations, as well as the need to adapt the legislation of Ukraine in the field of labor to the requirements of the European Union, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine will continue updating the Code of Labor Laws of Ukraine (hereinafter – Labor Code) in 2023.
One of the tasks of the parliament is to introduce new types of labor relations and develop special algorithms for their regulation. Among the ideas being discussed is the state’s assistance in creating platforms for providers and recipients of services, which can significantly reduce the level of unemployment in Ukraine, in particular, during the post-war recovery period.
It is about a new type of labor relations for Ukraine – platform employment. Platform employment involves the provision by Internet services and sites of an opportunity for the employer to place a request for the performance of one or another task, and for the direct service provider to perform these tasks in accordance with their own competences. People will be able to find work, create teams, and implement projects through online sites.
This type of employment is currently becoming one of the promising trends in the development of the labor market in the world. According to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, 90% of new jobs in America have been created by the platform economy. In China, this economy provides a third of job growth.
