A new type of leave without salary will be available on January 1, 2023

Changes to Art. 10 and 25 of the Law of Ukraine “On Vacations”, introduced by the Law of Ukraine “On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of Ukraine Regarding the Operation of Local and Voluntary Fire Protection” dated 11/16/2022 No. 2750-IX. Yes, in accordance with Clause 9-1, Part 14 of Art. 10 of the Law of Ukraine “On Vacations” annual vacations will be granted to employees who are members of fire and rescue units to provide voluntary fire protection for at least a year at the employee’s request at a time convenient for him.

At the same time, Article 19 25 of the Law of Ukraine “On Vacations” provides for another type of vacation without salary, which is provided to the employee in a mandatory manner. This right will be available to employees who are members of fire and rescue units to provide voluntary fire protection for at least a year, for up to 5 calendar days each year, as well as members of voluntary civil defense formations for up to 5 calendar days per year of their involvement in the performance of tasks on prevention and liquidation of the consequences of emergency situations as part of voluntary formations of civil protection.
