Every person at least once in his life got into a situation when he took a product from the store window at a “promotional” price, and at the checkout this product was punched for another price. How to act in such a situation?
Should the seller follow the price tags when placing the product?
By placing the product on the shop window and indicating its price, the seller makes a public offer to conclude a sales contract. At the same time, the seller undertakes to sell this product to anyone who applies to him precisely on the terms proposed by the seller.
What should you do if at the checkout of a store you are informed about a recent price change and explain that they did not have time to change the price tag in time?
First of all, consumers should know that this is exclusively the problem of the relevant store employees and you have every right to demand the sale of the product at the price specified in the price tag. And the product must be sold to you without hindrance and according to the price on the price tag, regardless of the price listed in the store’s computer (database).
And as for the difference in cost, it can be reimbursed to the trading company at the expense of the employee responsible for posting price tags.
What to do if they refuse to sell the product at the price indicated on the price tag?
In the event that a person receives a refusal on his legal claim, we recommend:
- if possible, record such facts on a photo or video;
- urgently request a book of reviews and offers, which should be freely available in the buyer’s corner, and make an entry (statement) in it outlining all the circumstances that occurred;
- find out the name of the business entity that carries out trade and the direct address of this store;
- submit an appropriate complaint regarding the provision by employees of the institution of inaccurate information about the price of the product and the refusal to exercise your rights as a consumer to the Head Office of the State Production and Consumer Service of your region.
Further actions will depend on the consideration of your complaint.
