On 19 December 2023, fourth-year students majoring in Accounting and Taxation took part in a professional webinar as part of the discipline “Corporate Reporting” (lecturer – Filatova G.P.).
The webinar was prepared by Mariana Kavyn (certified practicing accountant and tax consultant) and was dedicated to the important and urgent topic “How to report losses in a “cultural” way. How to allocate profits to dividends”
The following topical issues were discussed during the event: common mistakes when you “don’t want” to show losses; how to properly “remember” last year’s losses; what period is audited and for what period you can submit clarifications; “cutting” losses of previous periods – numerical examples and cases; why you should report even if there are no indicators for declaration; if you have a profit – what to consider in order to pay dividends.
Participation in this professional webinar allowed the students not only to expand their theoretical knowledge but also to gain practical skills that will be useful in their future professional activities. Such events contribute to deepening students’ understanding of the complex aspects of accounting and taxation, which is important for their successful career in this field.
