May 13, 2025 – a meeting as a part of the work of the scientific group of the Department of Accounting and Taxation “Accounting, Analysis, Audit and Taxation: International Context” (scientific leader \u2013 Ph.D, Associate Professor Zhanna Oleksich) was held.<\/p>\n
We continue a series of round tables as the part of the course “Transparency, accountability and stability of business on the way to EU integration”.<\/p>\n
Today’s round table was dedicated to the following topic: “Core standards for independent sustainability assurance.”<\/p>\n
There are recognized sustainability standards that apply around the world. However, there is no single global standard because the business world is so diverse. What works for a large tech company in the US may not work for a small business in India. In addition, different countries have different priorities and cultural characteristics.<\/p>\n
Global SDG standards have their pros and cons. On the one hand, they help create a \u201ccommon language\u201d for discussing social responsibility and make it easier to compare companies. On the other hand, they can be too general or difficult to implement, especially for small businesses.<\/p>\n
Interestingly, many companies are not limited to global standards. They are creating their own SDG programs that reflect their values \u200b\u200band the needs of the communities in which they operate.<\/p>\n
This was a very interesting topic to discuss. The participants of the circle received a lot of useful additional knowledge.<\/p>\n
