During March-May 2024, a series of lectures and practical classes were held for 2nd year students of the Accounting and Taxation speciality as part of the Accounting (General Theory) discipline. The classes focused on public debt management and its role in economic development, based on the cases of Ukraine and the European Union. The classes were held as optional hours.
\nThe optional classes were conducted by Assistant of the Department of Accounting, Doctor of Philosophy Filatova G.P., a participant in the Jean Monnet module project \u2018EU experience in public debt management: lessons for Ukraine in the war and post-war periods\u2019, funded by the Erasmus+ programme (101127602 -EUEPDM -ERASMUS-JMO-2023-HEI-TCH-RSCH).
\nKey topics of lectures and practical classes:
\nFundamentals of public debt management: theory and practice.
\nThe structure of Ukraine’s public debt: current state and prospects.
\nEuropean experience of debt restructuring: opportunities for Ukraine.
\nThe role of public debt management in economic recovery after the war.
\nMethods of integrating debt management systems into economic development policy.
\nClasses included interactive lectures, group discussions, case studies, and practical exercises on analysing financial indicators. Students had the opportunity to work with examples of real-life debt transactions and develop proposals for improving the public debt management system.<\/p>\n
This module is an important stage in the training of students, enabling them to acquire relevant knowledge to solve professional problems in the field of economics and accounting.<\/p>\n
